Greetings, and welcome to Phron!
I’m Annie, and I’m a homeschooled student in a Christian family (and proud of it!). I live with my five siblings and my parents on an acreage in Saskatchewan (wait a second-are those trees I see out my window?! No, it couldn’t be!). As you might’ve guessed, living with five other siblings can be rather chaotic at times. Hmm. Maybe I should rephrase that: it can be rather chaotic ninety-five percent of the time. Yes, now that sounds more accurate. And my chaotic house is part of the reason I decided to start blogging.
A lot of times, I’ll look around at my siblings sliding down the stairs on mattresses, making confetti bombs (very deadly if handled incorrectly) and singing “Oh, Let the Sun Shine in!” while brushing their teeth, and I’ll think, “What happened to sanity? When did it go missing? WHAT CAN I DO TO PRESERVE MY INTELLIGENCE?” And then I realized something. It’s not just younger (and older) siblings who seem to have lost their minds. A LOT of people have misplaced their marbles! From our not-so-all-knowing government, to your next-door neighbor, there are quite a few crazy people in this world. Some people are crazy in a good way, but others…not so much. Just watching TV for a few minutes will prove my point (honestly, has no one yet thought of the mind-boggling idea of making TV shows that add to the viewers IQ?)!
Finally, I decided to do something about all of this. Surely, I thought, there have to be other people around who value intelligence! I can’t be the only one left, can I? After some research and poking around, I found that, yes, there are people like me! So, I started this blog in order to be able to better connect with people who, like me, feel that today’s society is fast losing its grip on intelligence and common sense.
Here in Phron, I’ll be writing about all kinds of things, and I’ll be keeping my Christian knowledge with me all the way, so if the mere mention of the word ‘Christianity’ strikes fear into your heart, then be warned!
And now, introduction aside, enjoy reading, and remember: Intelligence will reign supreme! (it just might take a while to get around to it)
